

The Spalding Method of Phonics for Teaching Speech, Writing,
& Reading
is used effectively at St. Mary Catholic School.
This method fully
engages the students mind’s natural learning dispositions.
The Spalding Method teaches a set of phoneme-letter units
called phonograms.
The basis for the method is teaching the “saying” with
the “writing”
of the these phonograms (sounds) used in spoken English.
